Visionary carpenter Ben Anderson unleashes his first-ever life-sized animal sculpture in the Rebirth art forest.

Anderson is a truly gifted woodworker and craftsman. Each of his rustic, imaginative designs for artists’ studios, tree houses (the kind you can actually live in) and furniture exhibit structural prowess, as well his ardent appreciation for the natural world. This ambitious contractor has always been a sculptor at heart– so when two beautiful red oak trees fell in a ravine behind his Redding home, he took up his chainsaw with a plan to turn death into new life. Rebirth Arts Festival is honored to provide a home for the installation that resulted from Anderson’s labor of love– a gargantuan, jaw-dropping homage to his favorite animal, the African Elephant.
