Jake Hagedus

Fairfield, CT

Hagedus assembles wood and light in a frenzied stream of consciousness, honoring the act of creation as much as the finished product.

Jake’s work explores the relationships that materials have with each other, and in a more conceptual manner, the relationships that people have with one another. There are parallels, intersections, and obscurities. There is the juxtaposition of light and dark, soft and hard, refined and raw. And in all of this, in all of these observations and analyses, in all of this creation and destruction, he hopes to transliterate the delicate nuances of human experience into physical structures that can be as harsh and unforgiving as the emotions they represent.
